More crazy stuff....

This is Nate at his birthday party with welts from the water balloon fight (more on that later....) but I came across a photo that had me laughing hysterically and reminded me of Nate more than any other photo I have ever see... This is him.... the strung out crazy up for anything, full of piss and vinegar always doing what he can to make me laugh and pee my pants or scare the living daylights out of me..... (a speed bump with a helmet, must have heard about our family.....) Little dare devil.....
Now, these lovely ladies are my sister in laws (well the one on the right will be my sister in law officially on June 11th) and I love them both.... I couldn't ask for nicer girls to have joined our family and my brothers are dang lucky..... Brother #1's wife is on the left, Brother #2's wife to be is on right. Brother #2 made me cry on this day, by asking me to stand up with him at his wedding. I am touched and honored beyond words... I know I'm such a sap.....

Now, this is my bratty brother #1 on my bike, being himself (see where Nate gets it from)

This is brother #1 doing an imitation of me and my first crash that happened a couple of weeks ago.... YES, I laid the bike down, speed demon me, took a curve to fast (who me?) and laid it down as you can see the bike is fine, I'm fine and as brother #2 said (he was riding with me) "Well, you got that out of the way, ready to go?" He almost crashed himself, because he was to busy watching me crash, and thinking "God, I'm going to have to tell Mom and Dad she is dead, oh crap, I'm her health care proxy, oh shit, I get her kids if she's dead" poor guy that's a lot to process in a nano second, then I got up just laughing my ass off!

He thinks he is soooooo dang funny..... So now the picking has begun.... and will never end until I am dead. Strike that it will never..... end......

Bits-O-Wisdom

I couldn't believe it myself.... I came up with a Bit-O-Wisdom of my own.... Just popped out of my mouth, like I have been brilliant my whole life..... (OK, you can stop laughing at my moment in the sunshine!)

So this is how it went down..... This sweet, cute little old lady with the horn rim glasses and cute granny sweater comes in the office and we are all like she is soooooo cute.... Then she opened her mouth, and out came the most horrendous rant and rave...... totally unfounded I might add....

and after she left one of the staff looks at me and says....

"But she was so sweet looking?"....

and my reply was

"Yep, and piranhas look like every other fish in the river!"

Another lesson learned, never judge a book by its cover......

Ever just want to act 12, again?

Well, last week while hanging with my best bud, Paige (she truly is a horrible influence, really its all her, honest!). They have been in the process of building a new garage, before the venture began I really wanted badly to pull a prank, see her husband is a criminal investigator for our local law enforcement (I am very proud that he is one of my friends, too... he's nice... unlike his crazy best friend wife) and before the builders got there to begin, I wanted to put a chalk outline of a body where the garage was going to go, just to get the builders wondering what kind of crazy backwoods woodchucks lived here....

Alas it didn't happen, then..... But the garage is up and the concrete pad has not been poured, yet.... So while hubby was away last week (not so smart to leave us girls to our own devices, but he has serious criminals to worry about, see....) Um, one of us, yes one of us.... OK it was me.... says "hey, lets go to the dollar store and get some white spray paint"...

So we get in the car, buy paint, harass the poor sales girl, who says "you two must be sisters", we just smile and say "NOPE" (I'm thinking she is just evil and I am an angel) (p.s. she is going to read this and soundly kick my butt....). We get back to the house and the kids are like "what are you guys up to?", like all parents should, then Paige tells them to "beat it" (just like an unruly teenager). See the role reversal here....

She pulls out the truck and leaves on the head lights (because of course by now its dark). I tell her to lay down, "No, put your arms and legs at an angle, like your dead, dummy... " so she does.... I start painting around her, she starts moving because it tickles, "hold still your supposed to be DEAD". We are doing OK, till I get near her face, and she mumbles something about "hurrying up because she cant breath", go figure, like she hasn't sniffed paint fumes before.....

So, the deed is done, we paint over it a couple of times to make sure its there... She turns off the truck headlights and her son exclaims "look its glowing", it was kinda freaky in a dead body chalk outline kinda way.....
And yes, her husband thought it was funny, some how I think the concrete pouring schedule may get moved up....

Now, what's next????? hmmmm.... Oh ya, I guess we should ask Paige, she is the troublemaker, the leader in our escapades, What should we call this ring leader of immaturity????? Oh, ya how about my BEST FRIEND.....

Ya, know that saying.... "A good friend will visit you in jail, a best friend will be sitting right there next to you" well don't worry Paige, I'll be right there next to you, but I wouldn't count on the hubby posting our bail....

Does it count as

a blind date if you have not seen the person in 23 years? Well, I happened to make contact with a person I graduated with over some truck parts (queer, huh) but anyway as we discussed life, past and present, turns out we both were available and would I like to go out on a date with him, UM< UM< sure.... Well, we discussed when and where and then I get a call that he would really like to move it up and was I available....OK, sure the tentative plans I had were falling thru and sure.... I have one word, NIGHTMARE..... had nothing to do with his looks, the jerk looked better than he did in school.... Is there a manual for this crap?......

This week is about....

The beautiful baby boy, I brought home 16 years ago... This young man has turned out to be funny, loving, hard working and most important has a huge love for his family...
He has kept me busy through the years with hockey, martial arts, basketball and his love of sporter rifle. He has a passion for military history, that has turned him into a walking book, citing all kinds of facts and off hand information that just makes me think, "how in the world does he know all this stuff?". He has always been my little "old soul".He always worked in the calf barn with me and his dad, wrestling calves that were twice his size but he always knew he was the boss. I remember once he was still in the stroller and close enough to a calf I was putting on a pail, when I turned my back the calf started sucking on his shoe, and he just sat there laughing and giggling in his adorable baby laugh as this calf sucked his shoe right off.

He is still a hard worker holding down two jobs, one at a Vet Office doing kennel work and the other at the local grocery store as a stock boy. Time has flown by.... soon he will be making choices about college and the future. I'll do my best to let him walk his path without frantically jumping up and down about the unfairness of life going so fast... but he is very good about shaking his head with understanding and telling me to "get a grip, mom"! Sweetheart, you will alway's be my giggle man, and the child of my heart....
So next will be a post about the crazy birthday party yesterday.... It was mayhem....

I've already ordered one hit today....

Yes, i walked in the office this morning and announced to the staff, that NO ONE should get on my bad side today, because I have already ordered one hit today, and it could only get easier not to mention my hit man seemed to enjoy his job.... (Yes, everyone laughed)

Let me explain....

The dog was going crazy this morning, so I put on my barn boots, they went quite smashing with my jammies.... walked to where the Zeke was by the chicken and rabbit coop, there behind my row boat was a raccoon and he really was not acting right, so I grabbed the dog (who didn't go after the coon, thanks to the electric dog fence) headed back to the house.

Nate was eating breakfast and I announced that there was a coon, not looking right and would he....before I could get the word "shoot it" out of my mouth he was bounding up the stairs to get my .22 and ammo and out the door he went and he took care of the "problem" then disposed of the problem.... hmmmmm .....

So, the woodland creatures are just not having luck with the "Witch" Family in the neighbourhood...

From the Desk of the Witch

So this is where I sit as I bring my news, views, muse.... and other assorted tid bits..... As I write, I usually write things out in long hand as they come to me.... I haven't given you a piece of writing lately... (excerpt from a letter I wrote someone a while ago)

Journeys are not always meant to be what we had hoped, sometimes they are more, sometimes less, but the reality is if you keep walking the sun will rise, the star’s will assemble and life will always sing the songs of spring, summer and fall…and mourn with the blanket of winter’s silent cold hand.

Yes, I like to write letters, REAL letters in long hand, I think it is personal and giving of yourself to sit and write, I have been told many times that my hand writing is beautiful, I find something calming about writing, it is becoming a lost art in this day and age of computers. I find that sad...

But day's like yesterday, with the rain on the water outside my window, I always find a rhythm that is inspiring....

Who could doubt the existence of magic? The hum of life through the night of trees, the stirring of stars in the midnight black brings the mixed breath of two lovers riding a tide that is a whisper of everything in the shadows and held in only the deepest of hopeful secrets.

As a woman she accepts her gifts, bears the responsibility of her fate, for she knows better than most that in her journey there is not a greater power, no brighter blessing than the gift of an open and accepting heart....

From the Red Bench....

Hello, from the Red Bench in the Willows.... and Russell the the barn kitty..... After a few repairs from an accident in the fall, Nate is ready to hit the field in his go cart and leave in his wake a cloud of dandelion seeds.... that is until he wrecks and scares me half to death, which I sometimes wonder if its his mission in life.... to see me cluch my chest and pitch forward...Ya, know my luck I would land face first into something nasty in the barn yard and inhale....yep, that is my luck, death by doo doo.
Tonight was the awards ceremony at our Career and Tech center where Samantha has been studying: Criminal Justice. Last week she went through a round of interviews because she had been nominated along with 12 other students for the Rotary Scholarship: Outstanding Student of the Year. Well, she won.... and along with that she walked away with two other awards and a total of $1300.00 bucks for the evening....

Here she is with the principal and her Criminal Justice teacher:

and here she is with the superintendent that had written her one heck of a recommendation letter for her college application to Keuka. I can't say enough about my daughter...my hopes for her to fulfill her dreams are as big as the ocean and as endless as the sky...

I was sent these little bits of funny under the heading of "Wouldn't you love to say this to someone"and I want to start sharing them with you now and in future posts:

Speed bumps....

Ya, know the concrete barriers that are meant to "slow' some of us down...

Hmmmm.. well, then there are "natures" little speed bumps, aka squirrels. The fuzzy little road racers with tails.

On the way home from town tonight, after picking up the kids from their track meet, we are driving down South Street and I spot a speed bump, "AWWWWW, look somebody got a speed bump!" As we all lean to the right in the car to catch a glimpse of the not so fast speed racer's remains....

Samantha pipes up "He's not dead, he's just sleeping" huh......

I just do a double take and say "Ya, he just walked over saw a pool of blood and decided this would be a good place to chill", shake my head, we all start laughing, Nathan starts singing a little sing song about dead, sleeping, flat squirrels.

I look up into the rear view mirror to get a better look at what I am laughing at....

Look back to the road and..... nailed a rabbit..... opps, Sh*t.... not a good night for the woodland folk..... sorry.... now I am killer times 2......
