Growing up, Lollie Oakley was a lady way down the dirt road that lived in a beautiful old farm house with a fancy spindled front porch and the loveliest flower garden. I dreamed as a little girl of having flower gardens like hers in the front of my home. As I started getting in the groove of embellishing this crazy quilt, I thought about her gardens, I remembered how the fancy flowers made me feel.
The finished quilt is about 15x15.
I have not done a lot of ribbon embroidery so this was new for me. But I like my results and look forward to doing more.
This by far is my favorite part, I mixed different colored threads together for something different and I will be using this in future handwork.
I have had a lot of inspiration from Lisa P. Boni at http://ivoryblushroses.blogspot.com
she is an amazing artist. I can't wait to read her posts and see what she has been creating.
Beautiful work. Makes me want to get back into the CQ groove again!
