Spring in Ithaca

That's the name of the pattern at least.

I of course changed it up a bit.

I wanted my flowers to be different colors and I cut the size down a bit. I also didn't like the bird they had selected so I picked my own.

It now hangs at the nurses station in our office.

See the oil painting above the fireplace?  It was a gift to myself 10 or 11 years ago.  I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.  It was at a gallery that carried the art of senior artisans.
I saw this painting of a creek in the woods and felt like I could walk right on in and keep going, it still sings to my soul.

Long awaited

Joel's Den

Photo I took when we looked at the house (so that's not my stuff)

and now....Quick.... I snapped a photo after Joel cleaned off his desk.

it even has a conference area...so he makes me and the cats sit in the chairs when he wants to talk and feel stately..... I don't mind.. the chairs spin.  The cats not so much I have no idea why cats don't like to spin in chairs, they chase their tails with no problem.  I seriously think there maybe something wrong with my cats.

I still have to make the cafe portion of the curtains.  Joel didn't want anyone to see into the office and that's the deal I made to get rid of the blinds that were there.  Sorry folks, I cant do the white blinds......can't do it...like nails on a chalkboard, can't do it.  I don't know why, maybe because they never work, suck to clean, that long rope thing with no purpose...

But anyway, I think he wants to work in his underwear so... I have to finish the curtains. I have the fabric and its on the list.

On a side note: It's been raining, that means mud and I will have to mop.  I hate rain.

needles and pins, anyone?

I had to get some crushed walnut shells to finish this little project.  I know, I know...who doesn't just have a or a few bags of crushed walnut shells laying around, but alas I did not.

so here is the little cushion full of shells topped with some wool. Ready to keep the needles and pins sharp.

I think I may pass this along as a gift to a stitching friend.

Uncle Joel the serious educator

Can you see it?  These two... Joel has a real soft spot for the nieces and nephews.

He is always willing to explain and teach whatever they are curious about.  Today was no different and it was a serious issue.

TOM and JERRY

Joel records all of the Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes and Scooby Doo cartoons for Ollie, so when she comes over they can watch them continuously.

Happy Valentine's Day

The polar vortex kept me in the house today stitching.
Hope you all have a wonderful day full of heart.

An x here another x there

yes, it has a glaring mistake (Ok, OK..a few, geeze no reason to make me feel worse) but that is what happens when I get all cross eyed and the pattern is divided in to two pages, no correcting it now, but I have found a way to incorporate my mistake and make the whole thing work.

working, working, working...must get this done.  The other projects are stacking up.  It would help if I would quit falling in love with new patterns.  Really, it would, I am so fickle.  A stitching hussy.

It's been awhile

since I have even attempted to paint.  I had printed this photo of Zeke a few years ago with the intention of trying.

Painting is very scary for me.  My grandmother and mother were painters, but I guess even they started somewhere.

Love this dog, his is as loyal as the day is long.

feathers, fuzzy things and fabric

are what is happening at the Cabin.

Our warm days have lured the hens out of this teeny tiny coop(that was already here).  I think the hens have adjusted well to their smaller dwellings.  I know I have not put up a fuss about the smaller area to clean.  Joel just needed to do a temp electrical job for me to plug in their heated water.  I did have to re do the roost's inside to accommodate all the hens and put in ones that were better for their feet.  They had quit laying eggs and this week all of a sudden we are back in production (after I bought 2 dozen eggs) figures...

Pete and the boys enjoying the warm breeze and taking what little pasture they have as far to the ground as they can without eating mud.  They boys are pretty fuzzy, but I think there may be some fat boys under the fuzz too.  I have to laugh every morning when I throw out the hay, Hagrid hops to the hay pile, just like the sheep you see in cartoons.  You would think it would get old, but it still makes me laugh my britches off, I just can't help it.  Boing, Boing, Boing

I swear I am doing things with fabric and thread.  I even have a cross stitch project going, I swear.
Even though my fabric stash is still in bags, ahem...waiting for shelves, AHEM...I don't think he can hear me in the garage.  I did have this little kit I picked up last year and now is a good time to work on it.  I finally got to the copy center to blow up the patterns as noted.

Then there is this darling pin cushion pattern (free) I found on line when I was purchasing some of Kathy Schmitz new patterns...which I will blame on a blogger I follow...
